Ministry Teams

St. Paul's has numerous Ministry Teams that serve the church and community in a variety of ways. All individuals are welcome and encouraged to join a Minstry Team that interests them. Ministry Team chairpersons invite you to contact them directly if you have questions or interest in their team or you can contact the church office at 237-2163.

Below you will find listed the Ministry Teams, a brief statement of their role in the church and/or community and the chairperson's name and contact information.

Arts Ministry Team

Kristin Marsh

Provides opportunities for artistic expressions of the faith journey; seeks to enhance worship through visual arts, and to share the work of Christian artists.

Nurture Ministry Team

Welcomes new members into the congregation, helps our members stay connected to the church family and become involved in the various ministries of our church and know who their fellow church members are within their own neighborhoods.

Missions Ministry Team

David Howell
Provides opportunities for individuals to participate in missional opportunities in the local community, the United States and abroad.

Stewardship Committee

Focuses attention on the spiritual well-being of the congregation in year-round commitment to Stewardship of the Whole which includes time, talents, financial gifts and environmental issues. The committee is involved in helping to educate the congregation in considering stewardship as an all-encompassing way of life.

Staff Parish Relations Committee

Ron Prichard

Responsibe for hiring and supervising all the employed staff members except the pastors, who are appointed by the Bishop in consultation with this committee. This group provides consultation between the paid staff and the congregation in areas of support and accountability.

Campus Ministry Team

Jean Chirpas
Provides opportunities for members of the congregation to become involved in ministry with and for college students.

Lay Leadership Committee

Pastor Ed Zeiders

Works with committees and ministry teams to recognize, recruit and nominate leaders for the church.

Small Group Ministry Team

Rev. Sam Dull

Plan, implement and evaluate small group programs and resources for adults; recruits and supports small group coaches and leaders.

Youth Ministry Team

Robi Haris

Works to assist the Director of Youth Ministries in the areas of administration, recruitment and program planning.

PreSchool Advisory Board

Keith Duclos and Marsha Willenbrock

Discusses policy, budget, advertising, staff concerns and parental needs and concerns. Offers support, advice and suggestions regarding these needs. Members also help by coordinating fund raisers and working with church members to recruit volunteers for this program.

United Methodist Women

Sue Winck
Sue Rubba
United Methodist Women members work locally and globaly through dedicated circles to bring the love of Christ into the lives of women, youth and children. This group develops a creative, supportive fellowship of women through prayers, projects, resources, time and talent.

Hospital Visitation Ministry Teams

Peggy Cook
Schedules volunteers to visit our members/attenders when they are hospitalized in the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Every day of the year individuals who are hospitalized are visited by a member of the Hospital Visitation Team.

Shut-In Visitation Ministry Team

Assigns volunteers to visit parishioners in their homes or nursing homes.

Worship Ministry Team

Oversees and plans the various worship opportunities of the church. The team includes such ministries as music, ushers, greeters, communion, and acolytes.

Communications Ministry Team

Jane Harris

Works with the staff in advertising all aspects of St. Paul's including our mission, core values and ministries. Also works to promote outreach efforts in all ministry areas of the church and with the Board of Trustees to enhance and maintain the sound in the sanctuary.

Finance Committee

Craig Morrow

Recommends and monitors the annual church budget and fiscal policies for approval by the church Council. Along with the Stewardship Ministry Team, they are charged to raise the monies to meet the approved annual budget.

Church Council

Gary Perdew and David Flick
Provides the general oversight of the administration and program of the church, pursuing its mission and core values. Membership consists of representatives of the ministry teams and committees, plus members-at-large elected from the congregation.

Wesley Advisory Board

Provide leadership in the area of fund raising for the Wesley Student Center's ministries and networks on behalf of the student ministry with the Central Pennsylvania Annual Conference.

Endowment Committee

Jim Rhodes
Receives requests and recommends distribution of endowment income.

Nursery Council

Eileen Lang

Coordinates and trains volunteers for Sunday worship services and child care, sets and implements policies for nursery and child care, distributing welcome gifts to new babies, and providing a safe and attractive environment.

Drama Ministry Team

Lance Marshall
Participates in longer productions during Lent, Vacation Bible School, Sunday Wroship Services, District Worship Services, Sunday School classes and other areas where drama helps to bring the Gospel to life.

Health Ministry Council

The umbrella group which promotes the health ministry within the church that incorporates mind, body and spirit into a whole approach to health.

Music Ministry Team

Seeks to provide music in worship which glorifies God and ministers to God's people through a wide variety of styles and ensembles, while nurturing spiritual growth and fellowship for all participants. There are no auditions for any of the groups and no previous experience necessary Groups include Senior Choir, Youth Choir, Angelus Choir, Cherub Choir, Adult Bell Choir, Youth Bell Choir, and Children's Bell Choir.
