EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN, TEENS, COLLEGE STUDENTS, YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND ADULTS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR

Who is Christ in our lives? How do we live out our ministry? To whom do we belong? How do we know God? How can we live out our faith? What does the journey look like? Who are the sojourners along the way? Your Christian Education is a vital component for your personal spiritual growth.

The 2003-2004 Christian Education program is in full swing here at St. Paul's UMC. Listed here are the numerous opportunities for spiritual growth at St. Paul's. You are cordially invited to participate in these classes. In addition to the classes listed below there are many other opportunities in all age categories. Please call the Christian Education office for more information. These offerings include: Bible studies, book discussions, video series, retreat experiences, and more. CHILDREN AND YOUTH EDUCATION (Sunday School) ON SUNDAY MORNING
All children's classes meet on Sunday mornings 9:15 - 10:15.

Toddlers & Twos curriculum, focusing on God's love for children and church as a special place

Activities and teaching methods:Stories, games, singing, art, puppets

2 year olds meet in 108 Ed Building.

3 year-5th grade curriculum:
Bible Quest; emphasizes
teaching the overall story of the Bible in a fun and
nurturing environment. Children experience and apply Bible stories, develop Bible interpretation skills, and
learn to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Activities and Teaching Methods:
Stories, interactive games, songs, art, puppets, drama, discussion, prayer and service. Children 3rd grade and up are encouraged to bring and actively use the Bible each week

"Faith 4 Life" pre-teen curriculum, focusing on The Bible and Me, Why God Made Me, Peer Pressure, and How to Make Great Choices.

Activities and Teaching Methods: Games, skits, & activities geared towards getting kids excited about reading the Bible and understanding God's Word.
Gather at 9:15 on the Third Floor of the Ed. Building. Class meets in room 308.

"Faith 4 Life" junior high curriculum, focusing on some issues kids face every day, and relating them to God's Word.
Activities and Teaching Methods:Discussions, debates, and activities geared towards getting youth to think
critically about their faith.

"Faith 4 Life" high school curriculum, focusing on how to live as Christians in our world.
Activities and Teaching Methods: Discussions, debates, and activities geared towards getting older youth to understand what it means to live as a Christian.

Wee Church - worship specifically designed for young children based on Godly play

Young Professionals (YP) Class
Focus:An informal study/fellowship group

Jesus in the Gospels, a second generation Disciple study

Focus: Jesus as he is presented in the four Gospels, drawing on studies of his historical time and place, and his Jewish heritage
Participants: Open to all Disciple I graduates

Alpha Course - a course to discover the relevance of Christ in our lives
Focus: The opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting; a class about relationships and being in relationship with Christ
Participants: Open to all
Meets: Mondays, 7 pm, Abba Java House

Course catalog - offerings at times other than Sunday school connections
Classes: Bible study, book discussions, video series, retreats, small group, support group, etc.
