Philosophy
We provide the highest quality and age appropriate care for every child, the spiritual, social, mental, emotional, and physical well being of each child forms the centerpiece of all our activities. Working in partnership with families, all policies are consistent with the Christian principles of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Program Description
While emphasizing age and developmentally appropriate activities to teach educational subjects and Christian values, we offer the following classroom opportunities:
Infant Classroom:
- Maximum of 7 infants with 2 full-time teachers.
- Children enrolled are under 1 year of age.
- Full-time and part-time care available, five days per week.
Full-time Toddler Classroom:
- Maximum of 10 children with 2 teachers.
- Children enrolled are 1 and 2 years of age.
- Full-time care, five days per week.
Part-time Toddler Classroom:
- Maximum of 10 children with 2 teachers.
- Children enrolled are 1 and 2 years of age.
- Part-time care options 2, 3, or 5 days per week, at a variety of time choices.
Preschool:
- Maximum of 20 children with at least 3 teachers.
- Children enrolled are 3 and 4 years of age.
- Preschool program offered daily from 9:00 - 11:30, and can be selected 2, 3, or 5 days per week.
- Extended care available at a variety of time choices during the 2, 3, or 5 days per week, with a daily maximum of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Teacher's Qualifications?
All of our full-time staff have earned degrees in either human/child development or education. Students pursuing degrees in these areas may be hired as Teacher's Aides. All full-time staff members are trained annually in first aid/CPR and child development courses. We are extremely proud of the many years of experience of our staff. Several teachers have been with our program for many years.
Are you licensed?
Yes, we have dual licensing from the Department of Education and the Department of Public Welfare.
Staff to child ratio?
We strive for quality in the ratios that we keep. The ratio in our infant room is 1 adult for every 2 or 3 children. In our toddler room the ratio of 1 adult for 5 children. In our preschool room the ratio is 1 adult for 7 children. We will never exceed the legal licensing limits for ratios in any age group.
How are the children grouped?
We have a mixed age group for our toddler and preschool classrooms. The philosophy of our program is that we strive to meet the developmental stages of all our children. Mixing our age groups and using large and small group activities within the rooms better serves the individual levels of development of each child.
