Missionary Support
United Methodists are called to be in mission. We believe sending missionaries and supporting mission projects is part of being disciples of Jesus Christ. St. Paul's supports three missionaries. Diane Abbott and Rev. Dr. Mark Abbott in Madrid, Spain. Mark is a professor of New Testament in the United Evangelical Theological Seminary (SEUT). He prepares spiritual leaders, both clergy and lay, for the Spanish Protestant community. Visit the Abbott Family website for information about their lives and ministry. Dr. Ellen Titus Hoover and Dr. J. Jeffrey Hoover in the Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. They work at the English Speaking School of Lubumbashi (TESOL). Dan and Kris-Ann Wilcox in Unalaska, Alaska. This is a small island in the Aleutian archipelago. The Wilcox's are originally from Central Pennsylvania and both are ordained clergy. They minister to a transient population from 40+ countries who are mainly fisherman. |
