Building Use Policies

Sanctuary

In keeping with the sanctity of God’s house, the sanctuary shall be used primarily for worship activities. The use of the sanctuary for musicals and other cultural activities would have to be approved by the Board of Trustees on a case-by-case basis.

The church facilities shall be used for activities and programs for children, youth, and adults that would enhance their moral, spiritual and personal development and is in keeping with the Discipline of the United Methodist Church.

Building Use Policies

Use of the Church and Religious Education Building, or particular rooms thereof, shall be available to organizations of and/or sponsored by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church without charge. Such use shall be scheduled through the church office in advance (two weeks preferred), or if it is going to be on a regular weekly, monthly, etc., basis the Board of Trustees is to be informed at the next meeting of the Board.

Scheduling for social functions of St. Paul’s members (parent, children of members, etc.), such as wedding, anniversary receptions, rehearsal dinners, etc., shall be considered upon application to the Board of Trustees prior to their regular scheduled Board meeting. Unusual needs for set up or clean up will necessitate a charge for janitorial services.

Use by Outside Groups

Specified facilities in each of these buildings may be available through advance scheduling by outside non-profit organizations or groups at current charges, i.e., other church, charitable, civic, fraternal, and University groups. Scheduling and payment is to be done through the church office with approval by the Board of Trustees. Application form is available in the church office and must be completed and submitted to the Board of Trustees at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Facility fees are to be paid when reservation is made.

Personnel fees are due prior to use.

All outside groups using the building must provide proof of insurance coverage to protect the congregation against liability incurred by their use of the facilities as well as proof of fire and damage insurance. All groups using the building must agree in writing to release St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and its officers and staff from any and all liability incurred in conjunction with their use of the facility.

All groups that use the building shall appoint one person as the contact person with the church. That person shall be responsible for reimbursing the church for any breakage or damage, and to see that all tables and chairs and other equipment are returned to their original condition and positions.

All advertisements of activities to be held at St. Paul’s shall not imply the sponsorship of St. Paul’s congregation of that activity.

Hours when buildings may be used:

  • Days: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Sundays: Following worship services until 3:00 PM
  • Evenings and Saturday: By special arrangements only

*No smoking and no alcohol on or in church property*
